I love Eid...we wear new clothes...get all glamorous and visit family and friends to greet each other.... and enjoy the long line of delicious traditional Emirati Food and deserts..
this is the time i see many relatives who I don't usually meet on other days...
I still demand the "Eideya” from my father but started to give it to children as well =P… It feels really great as the city and people are all glowing and celebrating this special occasion.
Thank you for sharing the Emirati Eid Experience with everyone…great post…

You move from a receiver to a giver when you start working and become an individual who receives a salary at the end of the month :) I really miss those childhood memories of Eid .. we used to have more fun!

Question is what is the right age to move from being a receiver of Eidya to a giver? :) Eidya was one of best bits about Eid when I was a child: new clothes, unlimited sweets and a couple of extra coins, all while being in the midst of extended family gatherings. Bliss.
